David Crowder Band will be releasing their new CD soon. One of the featured songs is “How He Loves,” seen in the video below (performed by Kim Walker). They normally write their own material, but I think this song has a special meaning to the DCB (they lost their pastor in a tragic accident a few years ago). Hope you enjoy.

Living in Columbia, the capital of SC, I’ve seen more than I want to the past couple of days about Gov. Mark Sanford and his affair. I’m mad at him. I’m appalled at his betrayal of his family and their trust, and the same goes for how he treated the people of SC. But I like his politics. I apreciate his fight against big government, higher spending and taxes. He’s stood on the conservative principles I also hold dear. It’s an oxymoron. He’s an oxymoron. My head hurts just thinking about it.
Then there’s Michael Jackson. I’m sorry he passed away so suddenly. He was a hugely tallented musician. I remember watching the old Jackson 5 cartoons as a kid on Saturday mornings. It was good stuff. He made the music people talked about all throughout my high school and college years. But then MJ turned weird, creepy, and downright troubled. I couldn’t stand to look at him, knowing that he likely took advantage of innocent children. Not only that, but he physically looked like a freak at times. He’s an oxymoron too! I could throw in some comments about Farah Fawcett. She’s an oxymoron as well. Why all of these at once?
Maybe life is an oxymoron. Maybe I’m one too. Somedays I feel like myself, somedays I feel like Mr. Hyde. Why does God allow it to be that way? Although Job asked Him some big questions, we never really got a straight answer from God. Not because God didn’t have one, but because He knows we can’t understand it even if He told us. So we trust Him and we deal with the oxymorons of life–including ourselves–in constant prayer and humility.
Me and humility: there’s another one!
